Multicultural Center and WGRC News Broadcasts
The Multicultural Center and WGRC News Package surround two different but significant services offered at Manhattan College for students who need resources that can't be obtained in classes. The Multicultural Center is an organization in Kelly Commons that creates a safe space for individuals and fosters inclusion for not only BIPOC but everyone from different backgrounds to demonstrate community inclusion. Hayden Greene, director of the Multicultural Center, discusses organizations' activities and events for students.
The Lasallian Women and Gender Center is an organization that promotes and celebrates women's empowerment but also advocates for students of various gender identities. Doctor John Leylegian hosted self-defense classes in Jasper Lounge for students, focusing on de-escalating strategies and techniques for defending oneself from an attacker.
(This news broadcast is the final project for course, COMM 419 Advanced Television Production where I collaborated with Communication journalism student, Angelica Nierdermeyer.)
